Explore the way educators think about disability and the influence this has on the practices and success of an inclusive preschool program.

This webinar will:

  • Unpack the different models of disability and reflect on which lens we are looking through as we work with children with disabilities and their families at preschool
  • Reflect on unconscious bias and the power of positive mindsets
  • Consider the legislation and frameworks that guide our practice and pedagogy
  • Discuss practical ways to implement a social and human rights model of disability in your preschool setting

Professional Standards for Teachers:

1 hour of elective PD towards maintaining NESA accreditation can be claimed under:

  • Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
  • Standard 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments

N.B. This professional development activity can be used towards teacher identified hours. Teachers need to record this activity in their NESA logbook.
